Kurdistan Parties meeting to ease-up conditions in Region to be held later on Saturday
ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: A five-party meeting main political parties in Kurdistan Region is scheduled to convene in Arbil later on Saturday, in order to reach an agreement to east-out the conditions in the Region, a spokesman for the Goran (Change) Movement said. “The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), the Goran (Change) Movement, the Islamic Group and the Kurdistan Islamic Party (KIP), are scheduled to meet in the building of Kurdistan Parliament, in order to achieve an agreement to ease-out the conditions in the Region,” Mohammed Towfiq told IraqiNews.com news agency. The Chairwoman of the Kurdistan Coalition in the Region’s Parliament, Suzan Khala Shehab, had told IraqiNews.com that a five-party meeting by the Kurdistan Parties would be held in the Parliament building on Saturday, June 4. The three Kurdish opposition parties, the Goran (Change), the Islamic Union and the Islamic Group, had raised a 22-point proposal for political reforms in Kurdistan Region and carried out meetings with Kurdistan ’s two ruling parties, the KDP and the PUK. It had suspended its talks later, due to the spreading of Kurdish Asayish (security) and Peshmerga forces inside Sulaimaniya and other townships in the Region, that had used force to end demonstrations and sit-in occasions, that continued for 62 days, thing that had escalated tension in the Region.
