Kurdistan’s PM, Gul take up politics, economy

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The prime minister of Iraq’s Kurdistan region, Negervan al-Barazani, discussed with the visiting Turkish President Abdullah Gul in Baghdad means of developing political, economic and cultural relations. “Iraqi-Turkish border security was one of the main issues discussed during the meeting,” a foreign relations official from the Kurdistan region, Falah Mostafa, told IraqiNews.com news agency by phone. On Monday (March 23), Gul arrived on an official visit to the capital Baghdad, the first by a Turkish head of state to neighboring Iraq in 33 years. The last was by Fahri Koruturk in 1976. SS (P) 1
