Ma’amouri assures right of Diyala National Alliance to form Diyala local government
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Qasim al-Ma’amouri, of the Citizen bloc stated that Diyala National Alliance had the right to form the local government because it is the biggest bloc.
Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “The suspension of Diyala National Alliance from the session of Diyala Provincial Council was according to the masses’ will where it had the right to form the local government because it is the biggest bloc.”
“The votes for Diyala National Alliance were more than 180 thousand votes where it was the masses’ will to suspend our attendance from the session,” he added.
“Forming the local government of Diyala was legal and constitutional because there were 17 votes out of 29,” he concluded.
It is worth mentioning that the members of Diyala National Alliance left the session of Diyala PC where it re-nominated, Omer al-Hamairi, as Diyala Governor and, Mohammed Jarmout, of al-Ahrar bloc as its Chairman.
