Maliki, Ahmadinejad discuss Iraq-Iran ties
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Saturday discussed in Tehran with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad bilateral relations in all fields, according to the official al-Iraqiya TV. “Maliki met with the Iranian president and tackled with him bilateral relations and means to bolster them, particularly in the economic domain,” the Iraqi channel said. “Maliki’s visit to Iran will deal with a host of economic topics including electricity, encouraging Iran’s private sector to invest in Iraq and cooperation in the field of maritime transport in addition to organizing transport of travelers via the joint border outlets and facilities for pilgrims,” the channel’s correspondent in Tehran said.
