Maliki ready to meet Sadr invitation concerning meeting Barzani in Najaf

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Hadi al-Yasiry of the State of Law Coalition stressed that the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki is ready to meet with the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, to meet the invitation of Muqtada al-Sadr who has invited both sides to meet in Najaf province to settle the current political crisis.

Yassiri stated to IraqiNews.com “We welcome the recent initiative of al-Sadr but it should be based on the supreme national interest of the country and do not contradict with the Constitution because Maliki does not want to inter into political outbidding out of the Constitution’s framework.”

He stressed “The Iraqi National Alliance is completely ready to calm down the tensed situation and adopt the dialogue in resolving the disputes with the political partners especially the Kurdistani Alliance since our alliance has deep ties with the Kurds in general.”

Earlier, the head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr has invited, on last Thursday, each of Maliki and Barzani to meet in Najaf province to address the dispute between the Central Government and the Kurdistan Region Government.
