Maliki receives message from Obama
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, received a message from the US President, Barrack Obama, on Wednesday.
A statement by Maliki’s office cited “Maliki received the message while receiving the National Security Advisor to the US Vice President, Tony Blinken, and the accompanying delegation at his office in Baghdad.”
“Obama in his message confirmed the US appreciation for Iraq’s policy concerning oil file and renewed the US readiness to increase cooperation with the government in all aspects,” the statement added.
“Maliki stressed the necessity of keeping on the mutual cooperation between the two countries in all fields especially in the security field by supplying the required arms for the Iraqi Army to protect the country,” the statement continued.
“Maliki emphasized Iraq’s adoption for the peaceful solution away from the violence,” the statement mentioned.
“Blinken explained the US views concerning the updates in the region,” the statement concluded.
