MP calls Parliament to transfer funds allocated to buy armored cars to service projects

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Hamid al-Khodari of the Citizen Bloc called the Iraqi Parliament to take the initiative to transfer the financial funds allocated for the purchase of armored cars for the MPs to the service projects.

Khodari said in a statement held in Diwaniya province and attended by IraqiNews.com correspondent on Saturday “The Parliament allocated earlier funds to buy armored cars for the MPs and since only about three months remain for the end of the financial year and those allocations have not been spent yet for this purpose, then we call upon the MPs to take the initiative to transform those funds to the provinces to implement service projects for favor of the citizens.”

It is worth to mention that the Parliament has voted in February/23 on a proposal to buy 350 armored cars for favor of the MPs at cost of IQD 60 billion which equal $ 50 million. This law revoked widespread criticisms forcing the Parliament to cancel those allocations and turn them into other items.
