MP criticizes specifying estimated time to Maliki to adhere to Erbil meeting items
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mahmoud Othman, of the Kurdistani Allaince criticized specifying an estimated time to the PM, Nouri al-Maliki, to adhere to the items of Erbil meeting.
He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Specifying 15 days for Maliki to apply Erbil items is incorrect because some items need months to be applied rather than few days.”
“Asking Maliki to apply these items within the 15 days or withdrawing confidence from him will complicate the situation and increase the political disputes rather than settling them,” he concluded.
Earlier, a meeting was held in Erbil which involved the President, Jalal Talabani, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, and the head of Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, as well as the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, to discuss the political crisis.
The participants in the meeting sent a letter, including nine items, to the Iraqi National Alliance demanding Maliki to apply them within 15 days otherwise they will withdraw confidence from his Cabinet.
