MP describes withdrawing confidence from government as Normal
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Latif Mustafa, of Change bloc considered withdrawing confidence as “Normal” and the political blocs must get used to it.
Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he stated “Withdrawing confidence is constitutional and normal where the political blocs need to get used to it if they are adherents to democracy.”
He added “In the real parliamentary country, the government is always ready for withdrawing confidence and the parliament must be ready to do so in order to show the government that it is supervised.”
“The political process will be complicated if the State of Law Coalition did not apply Erbil agreement and do its promises to the other blocs,” he pointed out, calling the SLC to “Respond to the demands of the other blocs because it formed the government and promised those blocs to apply their demands.”
Earlier, a meeting was held in Erbil which involved the President, Jalal Talabani, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, and the head of Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, as well as the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, to discuss the political crisis.
The participants in the meeting sent a letter, including nine items, to the Iraqi National Allaince requesting Maliki to apply them within fifteen days otherwise they will withdraw confidence from him.
