MP rules out discussing stage of post toppling Maliki during Allawi, Sadr meeting
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mohamed Iqbal, of the Iraqiya Slate ruled out “Discussing the stage of post toppling the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, during the expected meeting that will be held between the head of the IS, Ayad Allawi, and the head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr.”
He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The meeting will tackle correcting the performance of the front formed to withdraw confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki,” noting that “They will review the mechanism of investigating Maliki and the figure who will conduct the investigation.”
“The upcoming meetings will discuss other aspects related to the agreements concluded between the three sides, the Kurdistani Alliance, Iraqiya Slate and the Sadr Trend, over their stances in the parliament concerning the important law drafts to be endorsed soon,” he concluded.
Earlier, media reports confirmed holding a meeting soon between Allawi and Sadr at the latter’s house in Najaf province to discuss the issue of investigating Maliki in the parliament.
