MP warns from environment pollution in Basra, Arab Gulf

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Jamal al-Mohammadawi, warned from environment pollution in Basra province and the Arab Gulf.

In a statement received by IraqiNews.com, Mohammadawi said “The Oil Ministry intends to install a third oil pipeline that will request to pick up the sunk oil tanker in the Arab Gulf in 1991 which is about one mile and a half from Basra province and loaded with 143 thousand tones of the crude oil.”

“Picking up the tanker must be by a specialized international companies to avoid the leakage of the oil into the gulf and therefore the results will be disastrous,” he concluded. /End/
