National Alliance cannot withdraw Parliamentary trust from al-Iraqiya’s leader – MP
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The National Alliance alone cannot withdraw the Parliamentary trust from al-Iraqiya’s Leader, Iyad Allawi, the legislature for al-Iraqiya bloc, Nada al-Jiboury, said on Wednesday. “The policy of action and reaction does not serve any national project sharing the political process,” Jiboury told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The demand to withdraw the trust from al-Iraqiya’s Leader, Iyad Allawi, is part of the escalation between the National Alliance and al-Iraqiya bloc. This escalation came as a reaction to al-Iraqiya’s demand to invite Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, for questioning by the Parliament for several issues,” she added. “The National Alliance alone cannot withdraw the trust from Iyad Allawi,” she said, pointing out that “there are other parties inside the Parliament.” The Legislature for the State of Law, Haitham al-Jibouri, had told IraqiNews.com recently that “there is an attempt to withdraw the Parliamentary trust from the Chairman of al-Iraqiya, Iyad Allawi, due to his non-attendance of the Parliament’s sessions.” The Spokeswoman for al-Iraqiya bloc, Maysoun al-Damaloujy, issued a statement to IraqiNews.com, saying that her Coalition would gather 25 signatures to question Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, pointing out that some of his National Coalition’s MPs have expressed willingness to add their names and signatures on the questioning demand, according to the Iraqi Constitution.
