North Iraq Kirkuk’s Council Chairman resigns

KIRKUK  / IraqiNews.com – The Chairman of north Iraq’s oil-rich Kirkuk Province’s Council, Rozgar Ali Hamdan, has presented his resignation to the Council on Tuesday, without citing the reasons for his resignation.   “After having served the city’s residents in the best way I could since 2005, I present my resignation today (Tuesday),” Hamdan said, adding that “despite political differences, I had worked with the Arabs and Turkomen, within the fraternal list, treating them as one family.”   Hamdan, who announced his resignation in the ordinary meeting of the Province’s Council, attended by the Fraternal List, the Turkoman list and the Arab Group in the Province, also expressed “apology for Kirkuk’s citizens and Council members, if I had done anything that did not please them.”   SKH (TS)/SR 591
