Nusayif to sue some websites for defamation charges

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Aliya Nusayif, of the Hurra Iraqiya bloc, announced that she will sue some administrators of some websites for the charges of defamation.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, she said “Unfortunately, some sides try to make the bad use of the freedom of speech to achieve personal benefits by extorting others.”

“One of the administrators websites contacted me asking for my curriculum vita in order to post a positive report over me, but I refused because I do not believe in praising the officials and MPs,” she added, noting that “After a while, I found him posted a report over me in the filed names “Corrupted” where he accused me of being included in the decisions of the Justice and Accountability Committee.”

“Such behaviors will never affect our policy to call for the freedom of speech where it is holy and can not be neglected at all, but allowing such kind of people to extort others will not be allowed and they will be judged if approved guilty,” she concluded.
