Official charged with murder released
KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: The mayor of Ain al-Tamr, west of Karbala, announced on Saturday that he returned to his post after lack of sufficient evidence that he killed an official in the Sadrist movement. “There were no evidence on my suspected involvement in the murder,” Mahfoudh Satai al-Temimi told IraqiNews.com news agency. “I was arrested while I was on vacation, and spent a not short period in prison”, he added. He said that he returned to assume the responsibilities of his post, in which he remained for five years. Ahmed al-Mutayri, the director of the Sadrist Movement office in Karbala, was assassinated on February 6, 2011 when unidentified gunmen shot him dead and escaped. RM (TP)/AmR 811
