Othman rejects call for suspending parliament performance
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mahmoud Othman, of the Kurdistani Alliance rejected the call for suspending the performance of the parliament.
Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “We do not support this wrong call,” noting that “The dilatory performance of the parliament is attributed to the disputes among the leaders of the political blocs which are negatively reflected on the parliament.”
“Activating the performance of the parliament and the government is dependent on reaching agreement among the blocs,” he added.
Over the call for conducted the second phase of the Governmental Reduction, Othman confirmed that “This idea was presented since conducting the first phase of the Governmental Reduction and now it is expired but it is up to the side that adopted it from the beginning if it wanted to activate it again.”
Earlier, the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, Ali al-Allaq, called “The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, to conduct the second phase of the Governmental Reduction due to the pressures,” urging “Maliki to suspend the parliament performance.”
