Parliament’s speaker mulls political conditions with EU mission

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Iyad al-Samarraie, on Monday discussed with deputy president of the EU mission in Iraq bilateral relations and political conditions in Iraq, according to a statement from al-Samarraie’s office. “Al-Samarraie discussed bilateral relations and general political conditions as well as the EU’s 5.4 million euro grant to the Iraqi parliament to develop the human resources and media,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The speaker urged the EU to give media a special priority and asserted that it’s our responsibility to update the Iraqi people with the work of their responsibilities,” the statement added.
