Baghdad (BasNews) Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi was “unaware of” the funds that the Iraqi government has allocated to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and he may issue an order in this regard, said a Kurdish MP.

Shakhawan Abdullah told BasNews on Sunday that since the funds were initially allotted by the former premier Nouri al-Maliki’s cabinet, “Abadi has been unaware of it.”

Abdullah added that Abadi has already begun investigating the reports on funding the guerrillas in Sinjar under the name of Popular Mobilization Forces or Hashd Militias.

“We told them there is evidence that, under the name of Hashd, salaries are distributed to PKK [guerrillas] in Sinjar and allocation of these funds under various names continues,” Abdullah said.

According to the lawmaker, after Turkey slightly withdrew its forces from Ba’shiqa near Mosul, the Iraqi government’s funds to PKK were reduced.

With the extensive war against the Islamic State (IS) organization and the Islamic jihadists’ invasions against the Kurdish areas, PKK, a Turkish dissident party, stepped deeper into Iraqi territories.
