PM congratulates Iraqis over Eid, pledges independence
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki congratulated the Iraqi people over Eidul-Adha, reiterating pledges to do his best to achieve full independence and improve security conditions. Maliki “expressed heartfelt congratulations and blessings of the Eidul-Adha for the Iraqis and the people of the Muslim nation and prayed to God Almighty to accept the deeds of the pilgrims (in Saudi Arabia) and bring them home safe and sound,” according to a statement by the premier’s information office as received by IraqiNews.com. The prime minister pledged “to our honorable people to do my best to meet their ambitions in attaining full independence, entrench security and stability, build a state of law, develop the national economy and improve the citizens’ standards of living”.
