Poor citizens to suffer from canceling Ration Card, says Tuma
In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com on Wednesday, he said “This decision needs to be reconsidered where it will make the poor citizens and those of a limited income to suffer.”
“The prices of the food staff will be increased,” he added, noting that “It is necessary to postpone this decision and exclude those people from this decision in addition to increase the financial support that will replace the Ration Card.”
Earlier, the Iraqi Council of Ministers decided to cancel the Ration Card.
The legal expert of the Prime Minister, Mohamed Fadhil, told IraqiNews.com on Tuesday that “The CoM decided to cancel the distribution of the food materials of the Ration Card starting from 1st, March, 2013.”
He added that “The resolution included distribution of IQD 15,000 for each member to replace the Ration Card.”
