Procedures to withdraw confidence from Youth Minister completed, says MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, MP Jawad al-Shiheli announced the completion of the procedures to withdraw confidence from the Minister of Youth & Sports, Jasim Mohamed Jaafar on corruption charges.

Shiheli told Iraqi News on Monday “Till now, the Minister of Y & S did not answer the questions of the MP who investigated him which refer to presence of corruption in the project of Basra Sports City.”

“The request of withdrawing confidence from the minster was written officially to be submitted for vote within the agendas of the parliament’s next regular session that will be held on next Tuesday,” he added.

The Parliament has conducted the investigations process in absentia against the Youth Minister over charges related to corruption accompanying the Sports City project that is being implemented in Basra province.
