Qatari FM welcomes Iraq’s role in security

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jasim bin Jabir Al Thani on Saturday praised the Iraqi government’s efforts in enhancing security and stability in the country. The remark came during a preparatory meeting for the Arab summit. Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari attended the meeting, held in preparation for the Arab summit, which is scheduled to be launched this Monday. Iraqi Premier Nouri al-Maliki will lead his country’s delegation to the summit. On the summit’s agenda are the Darfur conflict, the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, as well as the Iraqi and Palestinian issues.
