RA, Hakim sends UNSG written letter, denouncing violence against Shiites in Iraq, world
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Religious Authority, Mohamed Saeed al-Hakim sent a written letter to the Secretary General, Baan Ki-moon in which he condemned the violence against the Shiites in Iraq and the world, urging the international organizations to feel responsibility towards fighting these violence operations.
A statement by the RA, Hakim cited “The Religious Authority, Hakim forwarded a letter to Ki-moon in which he condemned the continuous terrorist operations against the Shiites throughout the world, especially in Iraq and Pakistan.”
“The Religious Authority called on the UN and the international community to hold their humanitarian responsibility towards halting the bloodshed of the Shiite people all over the world and to consider these crimes as genocides,” the statement added.
The letter was delivered by the MP Abdul Hadi al-Hakim to the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative for Iraq, Martin Kobler.
