Reform movement warns against Baath return

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Former Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari’s National Reform Movement has warned against the return of the Baath Party to the Iraqi political scene, saying that national reconciliation does not mean that Baathists are welcome in Iraqi politics at all. “While stressing the need to open the door to national reconciliation for Iraq’s sons and loyal forces…the reform movement will not allow the return of evil forces that brought destruction to the country and misused its wealth…,” according to a statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. Iraqi Prime Minister had called on the Iraqi opposition to take part in the national reconciliation project, ruling out the possibility that the Baath Party could rejoin the political process.
