Romanian consulate inaugurated in Erbil

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Romania opened a consulate in the Erbil, with the presence of the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and a number of officials in Kurdistan Region.

A statement by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan received by IraqiNews.com quoted ,Karwan Jamal Taher Deputy Head of Kurdistan Region’s Department of Relations, as saying “The opening of the Romanian consulate in Kurdistan Region aims to build strong relations with Kurdistan Region in the economic, scientific and cultural fields.”

“The Romanian Consulate expressed willingness to grant visas for the citizens of Kurdistan Region to visit Romania, he also said, adding that Romania will enter next spring within the Schengen Visa region, which allows the citizens of the Kurdistan Region to visit European countries,” the statement concluded.
