Russia to provide Iraq with fighter aircrafts with arms deal between both countries
(IraqiNews.com) Russia plans to provide Iraq with fighter aircrafts within the deal concluded between both countries.
The Iraqi government had concluded in 2012 a number of arms deals, valued at $ 4.2 billion with Russia and Czech during the visit of the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki to these two countries.
The Russian Interfax News Agency reported “Russia will provide Iraq with fighter Helicopters (Ka-52 type) and (Mi-28NE type).”
The two sides had signed an agreement to supply Iraq with military equipments valued at $ 4.2 billion in 2012 where Le Bourget put the deal into effect.
Baghdad decided to renegotiate with Russia concerning the arms deal due to corruption suspicions where the Iraqi government sent new negotiating delegation to Russia, stressing its continuity to purchase weapons to protect the country’s security and sovereignty.
