 Sadr calls ministers to resign immediately, gives 72 hours to vote on technocrats’ cabinet

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Saturday, Iraqi Cleric Muqtada al-Sadr called the ministers to immediately resign, while gave the nation’s leaders 72 hours to vote on the technocrats’ cabinet proposed by Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.

Sadr stated that the three top state’s officials [President Fuad Masum, PM Haider al-Abadi and Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri] have to hold a parliament meeting and submit the new technocrat cabinet proposal for voting,
while promised to start protests in 72 hours if the nation’s leaders failed to vote on a technocrats’ cabinet.

Sadr said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “The ministers should resign immediately, and the Iraqi people have to push the ministers to fulfill this requirement.”
