Sadr office: Maliki’s Party declines to receive demonstrators’ demands from Sadr
Najaf (IraqiNews.com) The office of Muqtada al-Sadr, head of the Sadr Trend released explanatory statement about the developments of Iraqi political arena.
The statement cited that “Sadr received the paper of the demonstrators’ demands from the delegation sent by him for this purpose, and a contact was made with the Dawa Islamic Party where an agreement was reached between both sides concerning handing over those demands to Dawa party to be delivered then to the Premier Nouri al-Maliki.
“However, Dawa Party refused, later on, to come to Najaf and take the demands’ list due to their rejection over the attendance of the Ahrar bloc to the exceptional session called by the Speaker Osama al-Nijaifi,” the statement added.
“It is worth mentioning that Ahrar bloc’s attendance in the exceptional session was encouraged by the Parliament’s role and ability in resolving the problems and meeting the legitimate demands,” the statement concluded.
