Sadrist bloc demands parliamentary session over Gaza

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A spokesperson for the Sadrist bloc, or Iraqis loyal to Shiite Cleric Moqtada al-Sadr, on Monday said that it has submitted a request to the Iraqi parliament’s speakership calling for an urgent session to debate Israeli military attacks in the Gaza Strip. “The request was submitted yesterday by one of the bloc’s lawmakers,” MP Ahmed al-Masaodi told IraqiNews.com. “The aim of the session is to tackle possible responses to the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people,” he said. “Most blocs will support this request to come up with a unified stance regarding this sinful aggression on unarmed people,” he added.
