Sadrist MP: Maliki grants large pieces of land on Tigris’s banks for figures close to him
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Mohamed Ridha al-Khafaji of the Sadr Tend revealed that the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki granted his Deputy for Energy Affairs, Hussein al-Shahristani and the Vice President, Khudhayr al-Khuzayi, also his advisors and figures close to him among them MP Hanan al-Fatlawi and MP Shirwan al-Wa’ili pieces of lands on Tigris River’s banks and others in Kadhimiya city of Baghdad.
Khafaji told IraqiNews.com that “The price of each land piece reaches IQD 5.5 billion in addition to other pieces given to those close to him at the account of the Iraqi people, though the Iraqi law does not authorize the PM to distribute land pieces.”
“There are also many files related to corruption at the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers that refer to distributing land spots and granting wide privileges to employees operating at the CoM Secretary General,” he concluded.
