Saudi newspaper predicts "sectarian strife" to sweep Iraq

(IraqiNews.com) Saudi newspaper reported that Iraq descends into sectarian strife.

Okadh Saudi newspaper reported in an article under heading of “Maliki’s sedition”, referring to the Iraqi Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, that “At a time the protests are increasing in many Iraqi cities, There is no justification to override the demands of the demonstrators especially Iraq descends into sectarian strife,” stressing that “Maliki’s intransigence gives rise to the tensions.”

“The absence of a solution exacerbates the existing problems where the clashes do not serve any side’s benefit especially after the issue of the fugitive former Vice President, Tariq al-Hashimi, and that of the finance Minister, Rafa al-Issawi, and last of which the accusation of the Youth & Sports Minister over charges is related to corruption which aggravated the crisis.”

The newspaper concluded by stating “The country is in an urgent need for consensus rather than confrontation where all are losers if the crisis escalated.”
