Shiheli calls to stop hostile campaign against Shiite Sat channels

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Jawad al-Shiheli of the Ahrar bloc called to stop the hostile campaign against some Shiite Sat channels which led to suspension of these channels’ broadcast.

Shiheli stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The freedom of expression’s principle must be respected, hence, we reject this targeting against some Shiite Satellite channels especially since there are other sectarian TV. channels but they were not shut down, so we refuse this double-dealing with these Shiite channels on account of other channels.”

He called “Some satellites to deal neutrally with the Shiite channels.”

Some satellites have suspended the broadcast of some Shiite Sat channels without clarifying the reason of this step. The management of these Sat channels considered this procedure a transgression on the freedom of opinion and expression, accusing Israel and the USA of being behind this issue.
