Shiite cleric concerned over anti-Christian attacks
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The head of the Shiite Endowments Authority on Wednesday expressed his concerns over the repeated acts of violence that target Christians in Mosul city, according to a statement released by the authority. “Religious clerics in Najaf are worried about the acts of violence and displacement that target Christians in Mosul,” read the statement that was received by IraqiNews.com, quoting Saleh al-Haidari as saying during his visit to the Christian Endowments Authority. Meanwhile, the head of the Christian Endowments Authority, Abdullah Harmaz al-Noufali, said that a Christian delegation will arrive in Najaf city next week to meet with the top Shiite cleric, Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistanti, noting that the visit has been scheduled before the outbreak of the recent violent incidents in Mosul.
