Shubar calls Saudi authorities to respect freedom of performing religious rituals

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Ali Shubar of Citizen Bloc called the Saudi authorities to respect the freedom of practicing the religious rituals in Mecca.

Shubar told IraqiNews.com that “The Saudi Arabia always claims that it respects the freedom of performing the religious rituals but this is not true, where it oppress anyone who tries to perform the religious rituals contrary to Saudi religious rituals,” noting that “The KSA significantly transgressed on the Iraqi pilgrims’ freedom during the pilgrimage season of this year because they performed the rituals of visiting holy shrines in Medina al-Munawara in the way they believe.”

“The punishment for any person who performs religious rituals in Saudi Arabia contrary to its rituals is imprisonment, lashing or decapitation,” he added.

Earlier, the Iraqi Haj Board has revealed that the Saudi authorities arrested an employee of the Board and sentenced him to prison for three months with 200 lashes.
