Sihail: Iraq to play influential role in region

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The first Deputy Speaker Qusai al-Sihail said that “Iraq will be the most active polar in the region,” assuring that “It has the economic and human resources which qualify it to play the leadership role in the region.” A statement by the Press Office of al-Sihail cited “Sihail received in Baghdad, the German Ambassador to Iraq Carl George Christian and the accompanying delegation where they discussed the means of promoting the bilateral relations in the parliamentary, economic and scientific fields.” Sihail called on Germany and the European Union countries to “find new opportunities in the investment and economic cooperation with Iraq.” He referred to “The importance of enhancing the relations between Iraq and Germany and making use of the German expertise in all levels since Germany is one of the advanced countries in the international community.” “Both sides discussed the updates on the regional arena and Iraq’s pivotal role in the region,” the statement concluded.
