Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A source revealed “The reasons behind the withdrawal of representative of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council from the meeting of the Iraqi National Alliance which was held on last Thursday.
The source stated to IraqiNews.com “The representative of the SIIC, Humam Hamoudi, was surprised that a number of representatives for each bloc within INA have attended the meeting which violates a previous agreement over representing each bloc with one representative only.”
“That was the reason why Hamoudi withdrew from the meeting,” the source added.
“During the meeting, disputes took place between the State of Law Coalition, who asked to announce the support for the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, after the meeting, and the Sadr Trend who requested to adopt the program announced by the Head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, over the current political crisis, which involves 18 points,” the source continued.
“The attendants of the meeting did not reach a result because they had many views,” the source mentioned, assuring “The INA will hold other meetings to unify the stances and views during the next days.”
Earlier, INA held a meeting on last Thursday headed by Ibraheem al-Jaafary.
