United Nations representative meets Muqtada al-Sadr to discuss political updates in Iraq

Najaf (IraqiNews.com) The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq (SRSG), Nikolay Mladenov, and the Head of Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, discussed the political updates on Iraqi arena.

The UN Official reported in a statement that he delivered within a joint press conference within Sadr attended by the correspondent of IraqiNews.com on Thursday ”We do not intervene in special affairs, related to disputes between Sadr and the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, though we hope the political key officials to exert more cooperation instead of launching offensive statements.”

”Sadr described his meeting with the UN official as useful for Iraqi people on various levels, yet Sadr refused to comment over any questions related to his disagreement with Maliki,” the statement concluded.
