State of Law rejects National Council – MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Al-Iraqiya’s spokeswoman Maysoon al-Damalouji stated that the State of Law bloc did not accept the settlement of security ministries and the initiative of Kurdistan president on the Higher National Strategic Council. Damalouji told IraqiNews.com that there was an agreement that three ministers from al-Iraqiya, the Kurdish and National Alliance blocs to assume the security ministries, but Hassan al-Sinaid (on behalf of the National Council) expressed that the matter belongs to the Cabinet Council which will decide this balance”. Al-Iraqiya bloc threatened this week to withdraw confidence from the government and to initiate early elections if the national partnership is not achieved. It is expected that a meeting with President Jalal Talabani will take place next week to continue the talks among political entities to settle the differences between al-Iraqiya and State of Law blocs, as well as on the U.S. forces withdrawal and trimming the present government. Since March 2010 elections, Iraq has been suffering from a state of political crises and mistrust between the two main political blocs (al-Iraqiya and State of Law), where the first wants the implementation of Arbil agreement that facilitated the way to the formation of the present government in December 2010.
