Talabani discusses with Turcomans bloc conditions in Kirkuk
KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani on Friday met with a delegation of the Turcomans bloc at his premises in Kirkuk to discuss the political conditions in Kirkuk, a well-based source said. “The president’s meetings in Kirkuk will concentrate on Arab, Turcomans blocs and other components in the province,” the source told IraqiNews.com. The president had arrived in the oil-rich province yesterday, according to a local source. The president’s arrival had been preceded by a lethal bombing attack inside a restaurant in the city, which left 150 people killed or wounded. Kirkuk has witnessed tight security measures since Thursday morning in preparation for Talabani’s visit as security patrols were intensified on the city’s streets and intersections. The oil-rich city of Kirkuk lies 250 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. SH (P) 1
