Talabani holds talks with Syrian president

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani on Tuesday discussed with Syrian President Bashar Assad in Damascus following up and implementing bilateral agreements, according to presidential statements. “Talabani met with Assad at the end of his visit to Syria, and discussed with him following up and implementing all agreements between the two countries and fostering joint action,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. This is the second meeting between the two presidents since Talabani’s arrival in Damascus last Saturday in response to an invitation from Assad. “The Iraqi president praised efforts made by Syria to facilitate Iraqis’ residency in Damascus and other Syrian cities,” it added.
