Talabani, Ibrahimi discuss developments of Syrian crisis

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi President, Jalal Talabani, and the UN and Arab Joint Envoy to Syria, al-Akhdar al-Ibrahimi, discussed the developments of the Syrian crisis.

Presidential statement received by IraqiNews.com cited “Talabani received Ibrahimi and the accompanying delegation at his office in Baghdad on Monday,” noting that “Both sides talked comprehensively about the updates in the Syrian situation.”

“Talabani listened to a detailed explanation from Ibrahimi over the results of his visits and contacts with the various sides,” the statement added.

“Talabani confirmed Iraq’s readiness to support the efforts of the UN and the Arab League to consolidate democracy and freedom in Syria and to avoid violence,” the statement concluded.
