Talabani, US envoy discuss prospects of mutual cooperation

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi President Jalal Talabani discussed with the US envoy the prospects of the cooperation between Iraq and USA on all levels in light of the agreement concluded between the two countries.

Earlier, Talabani has received, on last Tuesday, the US envoy for energy affairs, Carlos Pascual, and his accompanying delegation in presence of the US Ambassador to Iraq, Steven Beecroft.

A statement by the Presidency cited “The meeting stressed the importance of enhancing the mutual cooperation to serve the interests of both countries’ people,” noting “Talabani confirmed Iraq’s eagerness to implement the provisions of the Strategic Framework Agreement and its willingness to develop the relations in the economic, commercial and cultural fields.”

The statement reported the US delegation as stressing the US government’s readiness to meet Iraq’s aspirations in consolidating the common ties.
