New Saudi Ambassador in Iraq presents his credentials to Jaafari
Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari receives the new Saudi ambassador to Iraq, Thamir Sabhan
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, that the new Saudi Ambassador to Iraq Thamir Sabhan has presented his credentials to the Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari, while pointed out that al-Jaafari and Sabhan discussed the bilateral relations and the Iraqi mediation between Riyadh and Tehran.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesman Ahmed Jamal said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “Today, Ibrahim al-Jaafari received the new Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Iraq Thamir Sabhan who presented his credentials to the Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs,” noting that, “Jaafari discussed bilateral relations between the two countries with Sabhan. ”
Jamal added, “The two sides discussed the latest crisis between Tehran and Riyadh, in addition to the Iraqi mediation between the two countries,” pointing out that, “Jaafari told Sabhan that he will visit Riyadh soon in order to discuss the Iraqi vision to pacify the situation between Iran and Saudi Arabia.”
