Thursday, 30 days since Talabani admitted to hospital

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Today, Thursday, will be considered as one month since the President, Jalal Talabani, have been admitted to the hospital where he is still under the medical observation in Germany.

Talabani got a thrombus on 17th of last December where he was sent immediately to a hospital in Baghdad before being sent to Germany under the supervision of the German medical team who came to Baghdad and decided to send him to one of the most famous hospitals in Europe.

Talabani’s health crisis concerned the local and international sides in all levels.

The Iraqi political scene witnesses escalated crisis among the political blocs over issues related to the partnership and other key issues especially between the Iraqiya Slate and the State of Law Coalition in one hand in addition to the disputes between the Kurdistani Regional Government and Central Government on the other hand.

The crisis led to demonstrations conducted in a number of provinces calling for releasing the women detainees and the prisoners, canceling Justice and Accountability Law as well as Article 4 of Anti-Terrorism Law in addition to ensuring the balance and other demands.

The head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, called to politicians to settle the issue of the President’s post.

For his part, MP, Sami al-Askari, of the State of Law Coalition ruled out changing the political scene in case the President, Jalal Talabani, dies.

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “2013 will not be different from 2012 in case Talabani dies,” noting that “The constitution is clearly stating who can succeed him who is the first Vice-President.”

“The parliament should nominate his substitute within 30 days if he announced to be dead or unable to continue in his post,” he mentioned.

“The political map will not be changed and confessionalism will continue according to which the President post is granted to the Kurdistani Alliance so it must present a candidate for vote to substitute Talabani,” he concluded.
