Today’s Sadrist Demonstration is a prelude to open protest – Seikh
NAJAF / IraqiNews.com: Sadrist Trend members called today for the implementation of the conditions laid by their leader, Muqtada al-Sadr. In a demonstration in Kufa city, near Najaf, the protesters presented al-Sadr demands of U.S. forces withdrawal and improvement of social conditions in the front of their slogans. The protestors raised lanterns as an expression of the their rejection of the services rendered by the Iraqi government. Sheikh Amed al-Iboudi told IraqiNews.com that this demonstration is a prelude to open one if the demands are not implemented. “Our demands are simple, better services and expelling the corrupted from the government”, he added. On the other side, MP Hussein al-Sharifi told IraqiNews.com “we hope the Iraqi government and political forces respond to al-Sadr demands, which are possible to implement”. Muqtada al-Sadr demanded three conditions, namely, granting part of the oil revenues to the people, find gob opportunities to 50 thousand people in all provinces, and supplying generators’ owners with free fuel till the electricity problem is solved.
