Transport minister summoned over corruption charges – MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A lawmaker from the Sadrist bloc, Ahmed al-Masaodi, on Monday said that the parliamentary decision to summon the Iraqi minister of transport, Aamer Abdeljabbar, is due to “financial and administrative corruption” cases in his ministry. “The minister violated law and exploited his position to do business,” al-Masaodi told IraqiNews.com. “More than 100 lawmakers signed the summon request,” he said. Al-Masaodi ruled out the minister’s decision to close the Iraqi parliament’s office at Baghdad International Airport (BIAP) as the reason behind his questioning. MH (P) / SS 1
