Turkish president to visit Iraq before end of 2008 – spokesman

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The official spokesman for the Iraqi government said on Thursday that Turkish President Abdullah Gul will visit Iraq before the end of the year, noting that the visit will focus on the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) issue. “The time of the visit of the Turkish president has not been determined yet, but the Turkish side asserted the visit will take place before the end of the year,” Ali al-Dabagh told IraqiNews.com. “The visit will come at an invitation from President Jalal Talabani,” he explained. “The Turkish official will focus on discussing the issue of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and other issues of mutual concern,” he said.   SH (S)/SR   1
