UNAMI: April deadliest month in Iraq in 2013

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The United Nations Assistance Mission to Iraq “UNAMI”, released today a report saying that “April was the deadliest in Iraq since June 2008.”

The report, which was received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), cited that “712 people were killed while 1633 were wounded due to terrorism and violent acts in Iraq.”

UNAMI said “595 civilians were killed while 1438 civilians were wounded in addition to 117 security elements were killed and 195 others wounded.

According to UNAMI, Baghdad was the worst affected province with a total of 697 civilian casualties (211 killed and 486 wounded), followed by Diyala, Salah-il-Din, Kirkuk, Nineveh and Anbar.
