URGENT: Christian Cardinal, Emmanuel III Dally, meets Shiite Authority, Sistany, in Najaf

NAJAF / IraqiNews.com: The Christian Cardinal Emmanuel III Dally has met the Shiite Authority, Sayid Ali al-Sistany, in the holy city of Najaf on Monday, a source close to Sistany reported.   “The Religious Authority, Sayid Ali al-Sistany, has met Cardinal Emmanuel III Dally, at his residency place in Najaf,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency.   Cardinal Emmanuel had arrived in Najaf early in the day, where he visited the shrine of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib and the museum of Sayid Mohammed Baqir al-Sadr.   As for Sistany’s non-reception of Cardinal Emmanuel last week, Dally told IraqiNews.com that “the media had escalated the issue of canceling the meeting with Sayid Sistany last week,” saying: “there hadn’t been a previous appointment between me and the Religious Authority that day.”   Cardinal Emmanuel had visited Najaf a week ago, but he did not meet Sistany, who apologized for not meeting him “due to his full previous appointments.”   SKH (IT) 598
