Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Hurra Iraqiya bloc, Qutaiba al-Jobouri, pointed out “The statement issued by the US Embassy to congratulate the Iraqi journalists on the International Day of the Press Freedom aims at covering the crimes committed by the US forces against them.”
A statement by Jobouri’s office received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) cited “The statement in which the Embassy expressed their stance with the martyrs among the Iraqi journalists provoked the feelings of the Iraqis who escorted many deceased journalists killed by the US forces.”
“We do not deny that the terrorists killed many journalists yet the US forces killed a lot of journalists during the last years, some of these crimes are recorded with video clips like that of killing the team of Reuters in Baghdad,” the statement added.
“It is better for the US Embassy to apologize to Iraqis for committing these crimes against the Iraqi journalists,” the statement concluded.
It is worth mentioning that the US Embassy issued a statement in which it congratulated the Iraqi journalists on the International Day of the Press Freedom.
